"Even though Kobe Bryant stole all my moves, I
love him like a brother" said His Airness Michael Jordan.
Oh well, what
to say? We are talking about two of the greatest players in NBA history. One
is a legend, an amazing Hall of Famer, an icon, a hero; the other is a ‘still active’
basketball genius, a snake, a mamba, an example for other athletes and
supporters.
Whether Michael Jordan is right or not, i’m pretty sure that he was (is and will be) a
landmark for everyone. Just playing at the playground, it’s impossible you’ve
never tried, at least once, to score resembling the #23.
Probably, Kobe
has never wanted to be the copy of MJ, but – and that’s just a personal
supposition – he took from Jordan some movements, attitudes and ways to live and
perform the Game.
It’s human
nature. It’s like when we play soccer with friends and we use legends' tricks
or secrets to be stronger, more devastating or just spectacular. Come on, don’t tell me you’ve never tried to jump,
stop in the air like a statue and score with you head in Cristiano Ronaldo’s
style… Or, especially Italian, tried to beat goalkeeper with that silky and
soft shot that made Alessandro Del Piero great.
So, in conclusion, i’m sure that Kobe never (literally) stole Jordan’s moves, but, maybe
unconsciously, he internalized them.
Judging by this videos, he did it very
well.
